Trusted by our clients

See why businesses rely on us for accurate, dependable bookkeeping support.

Carolyn of Becky & Carolyn's Bookkeeping is a dream to work with!  As a church, we weren't sure if BCB would be a fit.  But we were thrilled to see the way Carolyn went to work on our specialized bookkeeping needs.  She was cool, quick, and confident throughout the transition which made us feel secure and supported from day one until today.  Nothing flusters BCB and 'service' is apparently at the the top of their list of priorities.  They respond quickly to any questions or needs, always going the extra mile to take any burdens they can off of their clients.  If you value honesty, proficiency and a can-do spirit, BCB is your bookkeeping company!

Your questions, answered

Quick answers to common questions about our bookkeeping services, process, and support.

Do I need to clean up my books before working with you?

No. In fact, it’s better if you don’t.

If your books are in rough shape, trying to “fix” things yourself can make the cleanup take longer. We work more efficiently when we can get into the file and see what's really going on.

If you already know what you’re doing and simply want to prepare things before handing them off, that’s fine too—but it’s absolutely not required.

Can you help if my bookkeeping is months (or years) behind?

Yes. Nothing is “too old” for us to handle.

If your returns haven’t been filed, we typically go back to the earliest year needed for tax purposes.

Whether you're a few months behind or several years behind, we can get you updated. Just know that the more cleanup required, the more time it will take.

What software do you use? Do I need to switch?

We work primarily in QuickBooks Online.

If you're already in QuickBooks, great—we can jump right in.

If you’re using spreadsheets or another system, we can help you transition. For many clients, the move to QuickBooks is much easier than they expect.

We do occasionally support QuickBooks Desktop for low-volume businesses, but we do not work in other bookkeeping platforms.

How do you work with my CPA or tax preparer?

We collaborate directly with your CPA to make sure they get exactly what they need, in the format they prefer.

Sometimes that means looping you in for missing documents; other times we communicate CPA-to-bookkeeper so you don’t have to mediate.

It’s a three-way partnership designed to make tax time smooth and drama-free.

Can I choose which services I need, or is everything bundled?

All services are tailored to what your business needs.

Some clients want full-service support; others only need monthly reconciliation and reports.

We’ll talk through your workflow and build a service plan that fits.

Do you offer one-time cleanup services, or only ongoing support?

We only take on cleanup projects as part of an ongoing monthly relationship.

One-time cleanups require a massive amount of problem-solving, discovery, and behind-the-scenes work.

Our ongoing support ensures the cleanup sticks—and that you continue to get accurate, CPA-ready books.

How do you handle payroll and 1099s?

We can help in several ways depending on your setup:
• Run payroll directly through QuickBooks if you use QB Payroll
• Work with your existing payroll provider (ADP, Paychex, etc.)
• Handle 1099 preparation and filing
• Provide guidance on what we need from you each pay period

What financial reports will I receive each month?

Most clients receive a Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet every month. All other reports like cash flow snapshots, job costing, custom summaries are tailored to your business needs.

Will I work directly with the same person each month?

Yes.

You’ll always work directly with Becky or Carolyn—the two partners who oversee every client.

Sometimes a team member may help behind the scenes with specific tasks (such as payroll or transaction entry), but your main point of contact never changes.

How responsive are you if I have questions or need something quickly?

We pride ourselves on being reachable and responsive.

Most questions are answered the same day—often within a couple of hours during business hours.

If your request requires time (like a workers comp audit or pulling historical records), we’ll acknowledge it right away and let you know when to expect it.

Is there a minimum monthly cost or contract commitment?

We have a two-hour monthly minimum.

There is no long-term contract—just a simple engagement letter outlining the work we’ll perform.

If you ever need to discontinue services, just let us know and we’ll wrap things up cleanly.

Will you work with our in-house bookkeeper?

Absolutely.

Many clients have someone internally who handles day-to-day tasks. We coordinate with them while still serving as the main reconcilers and overseers of the books.

Will you teach me how to use QuickBooks?

Not in the “teach me to do all my own bookkeeping” sense. But, if you have an in-house staff member who handles invoicing, billpay, or other limited tasks, we can train them on the specific parts of the system they need to use.

What if I need help understanding my reports or making decisions?

We’re happy to walk you through your reports and help you understand what they mean.
We stop short of offering tax or financial advisory—that’s your CPA’s role—but we can explain how things flow, what numbers mean, and where to find what you need.
